Men

In October the EFCA churches from our area meet at Camp Kinship in the Black Hills. There are several activities for everyone to enjoy, such as skeet, fishing, hiking, bike riding, 90 ft zip line, wall climbing and paint ball. One of the best parts of the camp is the excellent meals provided by the camp staff. We have a speaker that gives several biblical challenges to the men during the camp and a challenge for each to depart with. From the past camp we challenged ourselves to start a men’s group.

Speakers this year included Pastor Mark and his son Daniel who shared about what their faith walk has been like this past year as Daniel has undergone chemotherapy for leukemia. Check out our Photos page for a slideshow of the Men’s Retreat weekend.

Our Men’s Group meets monthly for various “manly” activities to bring together the men of the church and to invite others as an outreach to the community. The group has a focus on building relationships among the men in the church and to help in building men that can count on each other for advice, biblical accountability, discipleship opportunities, and friends for times of celebration and difficulties. As Ecclesiastes 4:12 states,

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Each month there are different activities that are decided among the group such as a men’s breakfast, movie night, bowling, and Super Bowl party. There are several other things planned such as skeet, prairie dog hunting, paint ball, mountain bike riding, hiking, and a camp in October. Each group starts with a devotion from one of the men and a prayer. There is no specific age group; all are welcome to fellowship with us.
